Antistatic Master Batch:
Many polymers are inherently electrically insulating and therefore have the tendency to accumulate static electricity on the surface, the intensity of which increases with increasing surface area to volume ratio of the product. This phenomenon can have undesirable and sometimes dangerous effects for many products such as packaging films and fibers, during the production stage through electrical discharge. In order to prevent the risks caused by this phenomenon, antistatic materials that are available to manufacturers in the form of master batches should be used.
Antistatics are polar materials that migrate to the surface of the product due to rheological and thermodynamic incompatibility with the base polymer during the production process, thereby preventing the accumulation of static electricity.
